The Growing Reader Phonics Bible
My 4 kids have used this Bible to practice their reading. It is great!
Boys and Girls Playing
by J.C Ryle
A beautiful book, with 8 children’s sermons. The type is large enough for your child to read it by himself…I gave it as a present to my 6 years old last year, as a gift, when she started to read fluently. She loves it!
Dangerous Journey
by Alan Parry and Oliver Hunckin
The Pilgrim’s Progress retold for children and parents that enjoy good reading, however, do not think that is an “easy” version, it builds on great vocabulary and style. You won’t read it in one sitting, but it’s great to read aloud as a family. The illustrations are just great.
How to Be A Lady: Useful Hints on the Formation of Womanly Character
by Harvey Newcomb
It was first published in 1850….it is great! I just think it misses the fact that does not mention Bible verses to support what it says, even though it is distinctively Christian; so I pulled my Bible and read some verses to strengthen the lesson. It is a lovely book.
How to Be a Man: Useful Hints on the Formation of Character
by Harvey Newcomb
We need godly men in today’s world, and specially in the Church. Some chapters are about, the tongue, reading, writing, hard labor… it is great!
The Little Prince
by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
This book is so full of life illustrations,…if you haven’t read it, I recommend it to you!
