Q is for Question

L is for Law

M is for Men

N is for Nail

O is for Only

P is for Peace…

This question is still there, here…for you, for me.

Only through the Holy Spirit can we get the right answer.

And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 16:14-18

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.”

I Cor. 15:13-15

“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.  Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”

Romans 6: 12-14

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6: 22-23

A is for Advent

B is for Baby

C is for Crib

D is for Darkness

E is for Expectation…

Let us marvel as we see the miracle…God’s coming…God’s Incarnation…

Jesus can only  be seen…through His Word. He is the Word.

The planning, the tracing of each of these letters, has been a beautiful way for me to meditate on Jesus’ coming…this is what Advent and Christmas  are all about:

Worshiping our King and Savior, Jesus, and the Father who sent Him.

May His Spirit give us eyes to see and ears to hear.

If you are thinking on buying only one CD of music to celebrate the Incarnation it should be this one, The Word Became Flesh, incredible orchestration, lots of Bible verses, it is just amazing!

Would you like to join me in my new project this week?

I have always liked alphabet books, so I decided to give it a try…I really hope you enjoy walking along with me, and maybe sharing them with your children this week…

My desire is to preach the gospel through this project, to tell about the wonderful story of Incarnation and Redemption. As always, my words may fall, but His are perfect, always enduring, never-failing.

My recommendations for today are two:

A Season to Look Back and Ahead, by Noël Piper.

And this, one of my favorite children’s books, This is not a Fairy Tale. You will just love it, and the illustrations are precious.

Note: I took these pictures late in the afternoon and the colors are not bright, I will try to take some more and change them…

Christmas Thanks

Thank you Lord, for giving us time to make memories…memories that will walk along our children, day by day, year by year. Memories that will remain as long as they breath.

243. Thank you, Lord,  for opening my eyes and helping me see that the purpose of creating, cutting and pasting; mixing, rolling and baking, is to enjoy beautiful times with the children you have given me.

244. Thank you for a White Christmas….in a city that never snows.

245. Lord, thank you for a basket that is starting to be full of gifts.

Projects and Memories

Posted in Celebrate Life, Christmas, My Thoughts with tags , , , , on Saturday, December 12, 2009 by Becky

This weekend we want to make some Christmas projects at home. We  already started with a cookie feast…full of  butter and sugar, icing and  bright colors, friends and laughter…sweet memories.

I would like to start  making  a  Jesus’ names garland, but most of all I want to make good memories while cutting it and measuring it; memories, always one more memory to install in their precious heart.

Bright, full of colors, sweet memories.

We want to have a delicious Saturday’s breakfast, but most of all, I want to be able to serve my family with joy and a smile. I want them to remember a Mom full of joy.

I may grab my watercolors or my scissors and my little red art notebook…but what I really do not want to miss is talk with my daughter, love her more while doing all these. I want to build memories. Bright and full of colors. Memories… always one more.

My Children are growing fast…too fast some times, but today is here and I want to be the kind of Mom that they will love and admire always. I want them to look back to this day…and think what a great time we had together.

I really want them to remember all the fun that we had while waiting for Christmas Day.

And one Saturday, it will be just my Beloved and I, just us, drinking our strong coffee…holding each other, filling the air of our home with  all  these precious memories.

Have a weekend full of opportunities to build long lasting, bright and full of colors, sweet memories.

Joseph, Mary and a Man

Posted in Celebrate Life, Christmas, My Thoughts with tags , , on Friday, December 11, 2009 by Becky

Augustus Caesar, a powerful Roman emperor gave a decree. He thought it was his idea, but God is sovereign and He moved the heart of this emperor to issue a decree  that a “census should be taken of the entire Roman world”. God moving the mightiest man on earth to do according to His Divine will…and this powerful emperor did not know.

Mary was full of expectation, full of wonder. Nine months waiting seemed like an eternity, maybe it was  because she was holding Eternity in her womb.

Mary was heavy, she really wanted a place to rest. Her baby was ready to be born and I can almost hear her pleading  for a place to deliver her baby that dark night; to give birth to the Light of the World.

I am sure that this young mom wanted a crib with white clean sheets for her baby, who doesn’t want that?, but there was no time for that. It was written that they had to go to Bethlehem. So they went. It was written, so it happened.

Joseph…Oh, I think of him and I look at my Husband; I remember how he really wanted me to be comfortable on the way to the hospital every time I was ready to give birth to my children. He was worried and breathed with me. Now Joseph, Oh Joseph, desperate? full of confidence? The Bible doesn’t tell us..but, Oh Joseph, I can still hear you banging at every inn: “Please, please, It is my beautiful wife and our baby, Oh Please, Sir…just for a night, the angel…” He couldn’t finish his sentences…they slammed the door on his face every time.

A tear, a pain, a cramp, one more breath, one more step, one more door…once more a terrible, “Not Here!”, “Not Tonight!”

They  had a promise to stand on. The had to keep on walking and knocking. They knew who was in Mary’s womb the angel had told them so.

Who was this Man that opened his barn for them? He did not know that he had been chosen, even before the world had been established to open the door of a poor stable for the Author of Life. He did not know that a star was shining up above the sky over that manger. He did not know that the Hope of the world was being born in his  stable, and angels were full of joy ready to sing the most glorious praises. The universe had longed for the manifestation of Immanuel. And this man did not know.

This Man did not come, running anxious to offer them help. He did not know. He just said, pointing at the stable: “Just there, take it  if you want” If he had know…but he didn’t, and that was written as well.

This man…and I.

Jesus came and I still do not know why He chose me, even before the foundation of the world to be a temple for him. I have the Word and I read it, and I ponder, and I cry… Why me? I did not come in a rush to ask him to abide in me…It was He who chose to come to me, and with out even noticing, the miracle happened, the Light of the world shone on me.

Why did you choose me to be a place for you to abide?

I read that he chose to save the lost, the sinners. Those like me. I did not even know when it happened. But it is a reality. His Light shines over me, and I do not deserve this privilege.

I was in darkness, now I see His light.

Today, I am not afraid because like Mary and Joseph,…I  do have a promise to stand on.

God has spoken.
