Fighting Goliath
Friends came over with her children for lunch. We laughed, cooked a delicious Minestrone soup, and talked over some delicious blintzes that our daughters made.
Coffee was on the table and the conversation kept on going…three friends, one table.
Sweet Friend said…“God will never let his children fight a Goliath, without first giving them the chance to fight a lion or a bear…”
Faithful Friend’s voice trembled, no words.
I knew my Faithful Friend’s trials, so I said, “We have seen how God indeed lets his children fight Goliath without a warning. Our friend has fought him…still is. She was in a garden full of flowers when it happened, and no one saw it coming”
Faithful Friend, swallowed hard, and with crystal eyes said, “ Yes, goliath came and we didn’t expect him. But God is sovereign, and He has not leave us alone through this trial”
Goliath and David. Goliath and us.
He is still roaming through. Still threatening us. Still yelling out our faces.
But God is still God.
All powerful, Almighty, All God.
Sovereign God.
God still let us face Goliath and also gives us the grace to overcome;
God is our deliverer.
let us not fear Goliath,
God is with us,
and didn’t we just talk about this a whole month?
Today, my prayer for you for me…
May God give us grace to fight, grace to overcome, grace to die.
When Goliath’s furious voice keeps resounding in our ears, may God give us ears to hear only His voice,
Let us be attentive, always watchful, always abiding in the word, because God, indeed, sometimes would let Goliath come out.

Amen .
May God prepare us to fight against any Goliath that surely will come to our lives; with God by our side , with the power of His word and with the love of those who, as us, have been saved by His Blood.
Love you
