Gratefulness in the Valley.

It’s the coldest winter for my friend. She is enduring the frost on her soul. Nothing warms her spirit. It is all gray. Tears run and she doesn’t even notice them. But still she cries out… cries from a corner, the deepest corner of her soul, and I hear her say, “I know the Lord is good. He is faithful. I thank him because on his mercy He did not allow a greater storm.”

I pray to God and I ask him to give me grateful heart in the midst of the most terrible winters of life. In the valley of shadow of death. When nothing seems to be pretty. When doubts arise and it seems that the whole world is falling down. When sorrow and grief are so present that you can almost touch them.

A grateful heart, O Lord, give me a grateful heart.

Thank you for hope.

  3. Praying for your friend. So sad. I also pray that if I ever endure such a sadness, that I too would look to God for comfort and peace. That His grace would see me through it – as I know He would.
    Blessings to you and yours…

    • Thank you, Kristy, may God give us endurance to pray for our friends in Christ that are suffering. May God help us to endure with them in prayer.
      Thanks again.
